Ryo Ominami, a student of Carlos and co-instructor of Gracie Barra Japan, has won the Asian Open Championships in the featherweight division. This makes Ryo double Asian open champion in one of the toughest bjj competitions in the world.

His success has meant he has won all championships in Japan. Furthermore, he was also awarded his black belt!
