Two weeks after his winning Black Belt Absolute at the IBJJF Chicago International Open, Professor Lemos again had a dominating performance at the NAGA Midwest Grappling Championship, winning both his gi and nogi divisions. Carlos displayed exceptional skill in the Nogi Expert division, including submission victories by kneebar and flying armbar. This is made all the more impressive by the fact that he fought against much heavier opponents, having elected to compete in higher weight classes for this event. His match in the Gi division was an exposition in Professor Lemos’ a perfect throw, as he fought and dominated a judo black belt with several powerful throws, finishing with a submission by armbar. Overall the event was a success not only for Carlos but his students as well, as his competition team composed by twelve members took astonishing ten gold medals!! , four silver medals, and two bronze medals.
