Professor Carlos Lemos Jr was recently awarded a rare and great honor, the reception of this Third-Degree Black Belt from Master Carlos Gracie Jr at Gracie Barra HQ in California.

From his eighteen years of training, eleven having been spent as a Black Belt, Professor Lemos has become a preeminent competitor and instructor, and as an ambassador of Gracie Barra jiu-jitsu and philosophy has opened several Gracie Barra schools throughout the world.  Congratulations are due to Professor Lemos not only because of his past accomplishments but for his continuing pursuit of teaching authentic Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and for seeking new challenges in both jiu-jitsu competition and mixed martial arts.  Professor Lemos provides an excellent model for the Way of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, and it is assured that he will remain an impactive force in the world of jiu-jitsu for decades to come.
